Secretary Says

Birthday wishes to Evelyn on 2nd July. “Our very best wishes to you for an enjoyable day”. God Bless.

Minshull were delighted to welcome Peter Drew as a member of Minshull Church on Sunday 3rd June. He, along with Elizabeth, are such assets to us. God bless you both.

Bryan has been into Leighton Hospital and had his Gallstones zapped. He is looking well and he says he is fine. May you continue to be fit and well. God Bless

Our thanks as always to the many that came to our Anniversary celebration. Union Street Choir presented a fine production of ‘No Greater God’, a beautiful piece of music with many moving, spiritual songs. The day clashed with Crewe Alexandra football clubs Wembley stadium 2nd division play off. Not to be outdone at Minshull we ‘catered for the fan’s’. The food buffet was set up at the back of church to leave the schoolroom free for the ‘followers’ to eat their tea and listen to the 2nd half commentary of the match on Stoke radio. What a wonderful afternoon was had. The Sun shone brightly, everyone looked bright and cheerful in their summer clothing, and the fans were in good voice in the schoolroom, and to top it all Crewe Alexandra won the match and are now promoted to the 1st division. Well done Crewe.

Church members once again enjoyed a visit to The Elms nursing home on Monday 11th June. We usually spend roughly an hour with them. David prepares a simple service with plenty of singing. Afterwards we enjoy a short chat with the residents who are attending.

Laughter time

I’ve just got back from my mates funeral service.  He died after being hit on the head with a tennis ball. It was a lovely service……………………………..

A Teddy Bear is working on a building site.  He goes for his tea break and when he returns he notices his pick has been stolen.  The bear is angry and reports it to the foreman.

The foreman grins at the bear and says “Oh, I forgot to tell you today’s the day the teddy bears have their pick nicked!”

When I was in the pub the other day I overheard a couple of blokes talking about not feeling safe if a woman was piloting their plane. What sexism, it’s not as if she would have to reverse the thing!
